A moment of anger can cost a life

I took this story from an email sent to me by one of my friends. It is very touching and therefore, thought of sharing with you all. And you know, this the one of the best ways to share it with you!
Here is the story.
While a man was polishing his new car, his four year old son picked stone and scratched lines on the side of the car.
In anger, the man took the child’s hand and hit it many times, not realizing he was using a wrench (spanner).
At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father, with painful eyes, he asked.
“Dad when will my fingers grow back?”
Man was so hurt and speechless. He went back to the car and kicked it a lot of times.
Devastated by his own actions, sitting in front of that car, he looked at the scratches; child had written
“LOVE YOU DAD”.
The next day that man committed suicide. .
Anger and Love has no limits, so let the river of life flow in Limits so that this fresh water stream is never scattered.
As the Chineese proverb goes,
“If you are patient in one moment of anger, you
will escape a hundred days of sorrow.”
How true! We get angry for small issues and that may finally result in the break-up of close relations and even to such extent that we will have to live or die with lament and pain. Then pain is even more if it has resulted in such a situation as mentioned above, where nothing can compensate the loss. And later, when we think of the cause of our anger, we will often realize that it was for a silly matter. We have a quote in Hindi, “ goli hadh se nikal gaya to nikal gaya” meaning you cannot stop a bullet once it is fired from the gun. A small drop of venom can cost a life; a moment of anger too can cost many lives.

George Bush Jocks

While visiting India, George Bush was invited to tea with Dr. Abdul Kalam.

He asks Kalam what his leadership philosophy is. He says that, it is to surround himself with

intelligent people.

Bush asks how he knows if they’re intelligent. “I do so by asking them the right questions,” says Kalam.

 ”Allow me to demonstrate.”

Bush watches as Kalam phones Manmohan Singh and says, “Mr. Prime Minister, please answer this question:

“ Your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?”

Manmohan immediately responds,

 ”It’s me, Sir!”

“Correct… Thank you and good-bye” says Kalam. He hangs up and says,” Did you get that, Mr. Bush?”

Bush nods: “Yes Mr. President… Thanks a lot. I’ll definitely be using that!”

Bush, on returning to Washington, decides he’d better put Condoleezza Rice to the test.

Bush summons her to the White House and says,

”Condoleezza, I wonder if you can answer a question for me.”

“Why, of course, sir. What’s on your mind?”

Bush poses the question: “Uh, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?” Rice was puzzled and finally asks, “Can I think about it and get back to you?” Bush agrees, and Rice leaves.

Rice immediately calls a meeting of senior senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours, but nobody came up with an answer…

Finally, in desperation, Rice calls Colin Powell and explains the problem.

“Mr. Powell, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?”

Powell answers immediately, “It’s me, of course.”

Much relieved Rice rushes back to the White House, finds George Bush, and exclaims,

“I know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It’s our Colin Powell!”

And Bush replies in disgust, “Wrong, it’s Manmohan Singh!”

Palakkadan Morning

As it is Diwali holidays, I booked a ticket in Amrita Express and came home.
Two of my roommates and a colleague were there with me. We got down at Trissur as usual, but this time, I saw the bus leaving for Palakkad before I reach the bus bay. I missed the bus for a few seconds! My friends got bus soon and I walked to the KSRTC bus station. The bus left the station only at 5.40 AM. Until then I had to sit there holding my bag.
I was astonished to find the bus almost full at that hour of the day, that too on a holiday! A couple came and sat near me. First I thought they might be siblings but soon I understood that they are husband and wife. The girl looked very young and she was cheerfully pointing outside now and then and was telling him this and that. I listened to their conversation for a few minutes (eavesdropping! Ha haa) and then I melted into the fog outside the window. As we passed Kuthiran and Pattikkad, the Sun rose like a bid red ball from behind the hills. I wished I could take a photo. But the straight, long NH 47 seemed to be going strait towards the sun.
I tried many a times to take a photo of the sunrise and somehow managed to take one while the bus reached Vadakkancheri.
The Sunrise

By then the girl had stopped chatting and placing her head on her husband’s shoulder, she was taking a nap. The guy woke her up and showed her the spectacular view of the sun rise. He too took out a digital camera to take a few snaps.

After we left Vadakkancheri, I could clearly see the difference in climate. The mist and fog was so think that the driver was driving slowly and carefully. I could hardly see the sun, and after Alathur, I couldn’t see the sun at all! The paddy fields seemed to be wearing a thick blanket.

Though there was light, at 7. 15 AM, it was still impossible to see the sun. It had hidden behind the veil of mist. I always enjoy the travel through the national highway from Trissur to Palakkad. After I reach home, I really did not get time to see when the Sun stopped playing hide and seek. Anyway, I am having a nice time at home.
